The project is more than the sum of its parts; it creates a brand-new urban area in Singapore that is interactive, human-scale, connected to nature, and climatically sustainable. A distinguishing feature of Marina Bay and a key to its success is the seamless integration of the public spaces both inside and outside.

The hotel has been created to complement the URA’s long-term planning goal of finishing the development ring around the Marina Bay basin. To open views from the CBD to the Singapore Strait beyond, the building is visually porous and set back from the waterfront edge in accordance with URA rules. The design incorporates a large, linking atrium lobby at street level that widens the city’s public pedestrian network.
